Spring, 1936. In the thick jungle of the South American continent, a famous archeologist and the expert on occult sciences studies fragments of a card, when one of its party of exploration draws a gun. The archaeologist withdraws a bullwhip and with such disarms the turncoat, by sending it the running - fact so Dr. Henry *quot; Indiana*quot; Jones survives. He and a guide enter a cold and humid cave and in a oppressive vast manner which contains several traps created by the ancient running which hid inside a renowned statue of report; Indy avoids barely such traps, but is driven back by the natal members of a tribe served by Belloq, an old enemy who runs away of a way exaggerated with the statue, while Indy must run away for his life and escape on the seaplane of a friend. Behind in the United States two agents of American Military intelligence say to him Nazi German activities in archaeology, by including a site of colossal unearthing in Egypt - a site which an intercepted cable points out in Indy is the place of the Ark of Convention, the powerful case carrying the Ten Command, which the Nazis can use to erase any enemy. Indy must recruit an ancient girlfriend (the daughter of his old professor) and an old mate in Cairo to infiltrate the Nazi site and to run away with the Ark, but along manner that Indy is involved in a series of conflicts, hunt and traps, before the Nazis learn the full potency of the Ark.

En arrière aux Etats-Unis deux agents de l’intelligence Militaire américaine lui disent d’activités allemandes Nazies dans l’archéologie, en incluant un site d’excavation gigantesque en Egypte - un site qu’un câble intercepté indique à Indy est l’endroit de l’Arche de la Convention, la caisse puissante portant les Dix Commandements, que les Nazis peuvent utiliser pour effacer n’importe quel ennemi.
