Five young British nuns are invited to proceed to a boisterous "palace", former home of concubines a former general, on top of a mountain in Mopu, Himalaya, to put the monastery of Saint Faith Class, a school for children and girls, and a dispensary for local residents. Sister Clodagh (Deborah Kerr) is defined as the superior sister, and the connection to the rude culture is the government's representative Mr. Dean (David Farrar).
