An American scientific exploratory expedition to the icebound waste of Antarctic is interrupted by a group of the apparently mad Norweger-Verfolgens and shooting a dog. The helicopter which pursues the dog accidents, no explanation of the pursuit leaving. During the night the dog changes and attacks other dogs in the cage and the members of the teams who investigate. The team soon understands that a foreign life form with the ability to take over other bodies on the loose one is and they do not know who could have been already taken over.

John Murdoch wakes up only in a strange hotel to think that he has lost his memory and is wanted for a series of brutal and strange murders.
