James Bond (Brosnan) comes back. Magnate of oil is assassinated in MI6 and Obligation is sent to protect his daughter. The fox (Carlyle) who makes lodge a bullet in his brain of a previous agent plans secretly the destruction of a pipeline. Obligation earns a hand of a scientific researcher, Dr. Jones de Noël (Richards) who is witness of the action which arrives when Obligation meets above with the Fox, but Obligation becomes distrustful of Elektra King (Marceau), especially when the boss of Obligation, M (Dench) goes by missing. Obligation must work quickly to prevent the Fox from destroying Europe.

A woman and a man wake in individual white cells in a desolate prison or psychiatric institution which carries only underwear and without every memory.
