Blatty's novelization of a real case of possession that happened in a Washington Suburb (Mt. Ranier, MD) puts Regan, an adolescent girl, Living with her mother in Georgetown in Washington, into a more and more difficult situation. She exhibits strange symptoms, including levitation and great strength. When all medical possibilities are exhausted, her mother is sent to a priest who is also a psychiatrist. He becomes convinced that Regan is possessed and he and a second priest experienced in exorcism try to drive the spirit from Regan before she dies. Very graphic for its time. |

A movie actress taking up temporary residence in Washington D.C. has her troubles. The script for the movie she's filming seems inadequate. Her ex, who is also the father of her adolescent daughter, Regan, neglects to call the girl on her birthday. And the attic has rats. Meanwhile, Father Karras, a priest and a psychiatrist, is losing his faith; and he's dealing with a sick mother who needs medical care he hasn't the money to provide. Another priest, the old and ailing Father Merrin, has just returned from Iraq with forebodings of evil. These three persons meet when the sweet and cheerful Regan turns foul-mouthed and violent. But her sickness is beyond the reach of a medical doctor or a psychiatrist. What Regan needs is an exorcist. |

In the futurist Great Britain, a group of adolescents does commotion each night, beating and snatching incompetent victims. After one of the boys abolishes a revolt in the group, they impress it and leave it for the police officer to find. He accepts to try *quot; the therapy of aversão*quot; to shorten his prayer of chain. When he is consequently left to go out, he hates the violence, but the rest of his members of group is still after him.

While Derek is in the prison he realizes that he chooses the wrong track. after the return of the prison, the try of Derek to persuade his brother not to enter his own way.
