In the Christmas Eva in New York, the divorced lonely publisher Rose Harrison (Susan Sarandon) waits in order that a miracle improves the health of his mother, interned in a hospital with Alzheimer. She feels sorry for the patient of the room in front of his mother and finds his visitor (Robin Williams). Meantime, Nina Vasquez Latin (Pen Ð and *185; lope Cruz) breaks his promise with his wanted fianc Ð and *185; Mike (Paul Walker) due to his suffocating jealousy, but he lacks. Mike is attacked to the espreita by the atendente of bar the strangest Artie Venzuela (Alan Arkin). Poor Jules (Marcus Thomas) waits to spend the night of Christmas in the hospital, where he spent the best Christmas of his life when he was adolescent. The lives of some of these characters cross with others along the night.
