In 1660, with the return of Charles II to the English throne, theater, the visual arts, science and elegance of expression of sexual intercourse. Thirteen years later, in the middle of political and economical problems, Charles II asks the return of his friend John Wilmot, aka the second Count of Rochester, of the exile the London. John is morally corruptly, drunk and sexually active cynical poet, and the King asks it to prepare a play for the French ambassador to make it pleased. John finds the actress of candidate Elizabeth Barry in the theater and decides to do it a great star. He falls in the love for her, and she is his nursemaid; during the presentation to a French, he falls in the disgrace in the court. When he was thirty three years old, he was dying of the syphilis associated to the alcoholism and he converted in a religious man.
