After the death of his husband, Anna Owens moves herself from England to Siam with his son Louis to become a teacher for the children of the king of Siam. She finds the Siamese customs being completely different from Englishmen, that it brings to him often in the conflict with the king. Nevertheless, after some time they are making along much better.

The film connects an entertaining history, songs, colour and results living with the movements of animated figures of mixed action. Mary Poppins is a kind of superpaediatric nurse which flies in with her umbrella as an answer to the request of the bank children and goes on to put things directly help of her quite unusual magic powers before flying away again.

This movie transplants the classic story *quot; of Romeo and Juliet*quot; to the City of New York in the 1950’s. Two families fight that they are substituted by groups of street fight. The Montagues are the Angle’s Jets, driven by the Musical Repeated Sentence (Russ Tamblyn), and the Capulets are the Sharks Rican Portorriquenhos, driven by Bernardine (George Chakiris). In a dance, Tony (Richard Beymer), ancient leader of the Jets and better friend of Musical Repeated Sentence, and Maria (Natalie Wood), Bernardo’s small sister, sees one to other through the room and it is a love at first sight. With the opposition of both sides, them they meet secretly and his love becomes more deep. Nevertheless, the groups are drawing a last crash, a struggle that will finish finally the battle for the control of the streets. Este filme transplanta o conto clássico "de Romeo e Juliet" à Cidade de Nova York nos anos 1950. Duas famílias brigam são substituídas por bandos de rua brigam. Os Montagues ficam os Jatos de Anglo, conduzidos pela Frase Musical Repetida (Russ Tamblyn), e os Capulets ficam os Tubarões Rican Portorriquenhos, conduzidos por Bernardo (George Chakiris).
