The game in South Carolina in 1964, the film is the mobile history of Lis Owens (the fact of Attiser) a 14-year-old girl who is haunted by the memory of her late mother (Burton). To avoid his solitary life and report disturbed with his father (Bettany), Reads it runs away with Rosaleen (Hudson), its caregiver and only friendly, in a city of South Carolina which holds secret in the past of his mother. Understood by the clever and independent sisters Boatwright (Latifah, Okonedo and Keys), Reads it find solace in their world hypnotising apiculture, honey and Madonna blackwom.
