In New York, divorced unemployed Larry Daley is a finished loser. His son Nick is much disappointed by his father who is the gong to be evicted, and Larry accepts the work of vigilant nocturne in the Museum of the Natural History as the replaced one by three old watches of safety that finish of moving back to raise little money and to pay his accounts. In his first shift at night, Larry realizes that everything in the museum comes alive in the night. The Museum transforms in a finished chaos with inexpert Larry, and he learns that since an old Egyptian stone came to the Museum in 1950, the era statues comes alive up to the dawn. When Larry brings his son to spend one night with him, three old rupture of guards in the Museum to robó the magic stone. Larry organizes the historical characters to help him to stop the criminals and to save the museum.
