The farmer of Iowa Ray Kinsella hears a voice in his grain field telling him, "If you will build it, he will come. " He interprets this message as an education of building a field of baseball in his farm, on which the spirits of Joe Jackson Descalço appear and another seven Chicago players Sox Brancos excluded from the play to launch the World-wide Series 1919. When the voices continue, Ray looks for an author removed to help to understand it the signification of the messages and the objective of his field.

In close future, the Russian rebels resumed of one of the foundations of ICBM in USSR. Worried by the perspective of a strike of rebel, U. S. send U. S. S. Alabama, a nuclear ballistic submarine, to look after the foundation and react in case they launch. While on the patrol, the submarine is attacked and systems radio are broken. An urgent message accepted during battle is only partly recovered. The captain Ramsey thinks that it is order to launch on the rebels, while Hunter XO wants to wait for a message of confirmation. Conflict deteriorates in mutiny as Ramsey and hunter's conflict for the control of the nuclear missiles of Alabama.
Dans l'avenir proche, les rebelles russes ont repris d'une des bases d'ICBM dans l'USSR. Inquiété par la perspective d'une grève de rebelle, l'U. S. envoie l'U. S. S. Alabama, un sous-marin balistique nucléaire, pour veiller à la base et réagir dans le cas où ils se lancent. Pendant que sur la patrouille, le sous-marin est attaqué et les systèmes radio sont cassés. Un message d'urgence reçu pendant la bataille est seulement partiellement récupéré. Le capitaine Ramsey croit que c'est l'ordre de se lancer sur les rebelles, pendant qu'Hunter XO veut attendre un message de confirmation. Le conflit s'aggrave dans la mutinerie comme Ramsey et lutte de Chasseur pour le contrôle des missiles nucléaires de l'Alabama. |

The principal character (John Travolta) observes a strange light in his birthday in a bar. The following days he becomes very intelligent and puts the intelligence to the good use in his community. When the word puts itself around he becomes an acquaintance as a monster and each one wants to understand why this one happened to a mechanic of cars. The government also wants to obtain his hands in it to put it to other uses.
