The farmer of Iowa Ray Kinsella hears a voice in his grain field telling him, "If you will build it, he will come. " He interprets this message as an education of building a field of baseball in his farm, on which the spirits of Joe Jackson Descalço appear and another seven Chicago players Sox Brancos excluded from the play to launch the World-wide Series 1919. When the voices continue, Ray looks for an author removed to help to understand it the signification of the messages and the objective of his field.

The things do not seem to change much of the County Wabasha: Max and John still fight after 35 years, the Grandfather still drinks, smokes, and chases women, and nobody has been capable of taking hold to *quot; Hunter of Siluro fabuloso*quot;, a gigantic siluro who really laughs at fishermen who try to take it with bond. Six months ago John married the new girl in the city (Ariel), and the people begin to suspect that Max might lose something similar in his life. The only happiness that Max claims is left in his life it is of fishing, but this might change with the new proprietor of the shop of bait.
