Plot Summary: 

After his Vice president repentinamente dies, the President (Jeff Bridges) who is near to the end of his final term, it decides to leave a legate selecting a woman to fill the position. There introduces a Senator (Joan Allen), whom it moved of the Republican Party to a Democratic one. Initially seeming to it to be the perfect candidate, an allegation repentinamente looks that she had been implicated in a sexual orgy like a such one of 19 years in the college. The president of committee of confirmation (Gary Oldman), Republican, drains the information to the press, using the discussion of press like a forum to bring it in the auditions. The president wants a Governor (William Petersen) is acquired in the office. The Governor had been a national hero when he tried to rescue a young woman of a car who fell of a bridge in the deep nearby water where the Governor had been of fishing.
