Plot Summary:
Morris Buttermaker (Thornton), a worker of retirement of alcoholic parasite and ancient player of professional baseball (during a very short time), is recruited to train and to train a team of baseball that fails of 12 years that it is on the verge of being thrown of the league. Although the team does not gain the first place in the following championship, this obtains really a big reappearance.
