It is the 35 year of the Common Era. The Emperor Tiberius is bothered by strange phenomena, an earthquake and the sky that becomes a black like an eclipse. His astrologers give him the just notice: his omens indicate that the world is in the strong pains of a great riot and that the old gods were destroyed. A new monarchy is on the point the rise to the East. The Emperor calls Tito Valerio Tauro, more prominent investigator in Rome, behind his exile. One of these women who believe in Jesus will offer finally to Taurus the key to the understanding of the mystery of Jesus of the death of Nasareth and will end the mission with which the Emperor entrusted him.
