Plot Summary:
A murder is announced in the shred Cleghorne newspaper to take place on the 5th October 19 o’clock in little paddock cottage. The people who live there, the retired secretary Miss Blacklock, her companion Miss Bunner, two distant cousins on Miss Blacklock, Patrick and Julia and the woman. Haymes, a gardener, have no idea about which the announcement is. Several villagers reach the house under the wrong pretexts *quot; just of the walking durch*quot;, or *quot; was in the Nachbarschaft*quot;. In exactly 19 o’clock the lights go out, and a man comes into the room, and polishes a beacon in everybody’s face. Then shots are heard. Because the lights come back to it, they find the man who went, the room has been shot. Miss Marple must unmask the murderer, but more murders soon appear.
Ein Mord wird im Schnitzel Cleghorne Zeitung bekannt gegeben, um am 5. Oktober 19 Uhr an Wenig Paddock-Cottage stattzufinden. Die Leute, die dort, der pensionierte Sekretär Fräulein Blacklock, ihr Begleiter Fräulein Bunner, die zwei entfernten Vetter von Fräulein Blacklock, Patrick und Julia und die Frau leben. Haymes, ein Gärtner, haben keine Idee, worüber die Anzeige ist. Mehrere Dorfbewohner erreichen das Haus unter den falschen Vorwänden "gerade des Wanderns durch", oder "War in der Nachbarschaft". An genau 19 Uhr gehen die Lichter aus, und ein Mann geht ins Zimmer ein, und poliert ein Leuchtfeuer in jedermanns Gesicht. Dann werden Schüsse gehört. Weil die Lichter darauf zurückkommen, finden sie den Mann, der hereinging, ist das Zimmer geschossen worden. Fräulein Marple muss den Mörder demaskieren, aber bald tauchen mehr Morde auf.
