Plot Summary:
The year is 1914 and Richard Hannay, When There Is mining Engineer who is visiting the Great Britain of a short time before returning the South Africa, is shocked when one of his neighbors, Coronel Scudder, bursts into his rooms one night and a history counts it that the agents ‘ of car-bed ‘ Prussians are planning daily pay to begin the First World war when a Head of the State Department of visit is murdering. Nevertheless, Scudder is murdered and Hannay is fitted for the death ‘ by the cars-beds ‘. Leaving to Scotland Hannay it tries to compensate for his name and to stop the agents with the help of Alex Mackenzie but not only it is he is pursued by the Chief Supt Lomas of the death of Scudder but by the agents who is headed by Appleton who managed to be hidden in a position highly put in the British Government.
O ano é 1914 e Richard Hannay, Minando Engenheiro que está visitando a Grã-Bretanha de um tempo curto antes de devolver a África do Sul, é chocado quando um dos seus vizinhos, Coronel Scudder, irrompe nas suas salas uma noite e o conta uma história que os agentes ‘de vagão-cama’ prussianos estão planejando pré-começar a Primeira Guerra Mundial assassinando um ministro das relações exteriores de visita. Contudo, Scudder é assassinado e Hannay é enquadrado para a morte ‘pelos vagões-cama’. Abandonando à Escócia Hannay tenta compensar o seu nome e parar os agentes com a ajuda de Alex Mackenzie mas não só é ele é perseguido pelo Chefe Supt Lomas da morte de Scudder mas pelos agentes quem é encabeçado por Appleton que conseguiu esconder-se em uma posição altamente colocada no Governo Britânico.
