Plot Summary:
Sentence against the scenery of the civil war and the confusion in the 1990s Sierra Leone, blood diamond is the history of Danny Archer (Leonardo DiCaprio) - from the mercenary of Zimbabwe - and Solomon Vandy (Djimon Hounsou) - a Mende Fischer. However, both men, her also different stories are African as some can be, until her destinies become connected a general search to attain again a rare pink diamond which can reshape her lives. While in the prison for the smuggling Archer finds out that Solomon - who was taken by his family and was made work in the diamond fields - has found and has hidden the unusual rough stone. With the help of Maddy Bowen (Jennifer Connelly) undertakes an American journalist whose idealism is reduced by a connection becoming deeper with the archer, two men, a trail by the rebel’s territory, a trip which could save the family of Solomon and give the second chance to archers he thought that he never had.

Beide Männer, sind aber ihre ebenso verschiedenen Geschichten afrikanisch, wie irgendwelcher sein kann, bis ihre Schicksale angeschlossen eine allgemeine Suche werden, um einen seltenen rosa Diamanten wieder zu erlangen, der ihre Leben umgestalten kann. Während im Gefängnis für den Schmuggel Archer erfährt, dass Solomon - wer von seiner Familie genommen und gezwungen wurde, in den Diamantfeldern zu arbeiten - gefunden und den außergewöhnlichen rauen Stein verborgen hat. Mit der Hilfe von Maddy Bowen (Jennifer Connelly) unternimmt ein amerikanischer Journalist, dessen Idealismus durch eine tiefer werdende Verbindung mit dem Bogenschützen, die zwei Männer gemildert wird, einen Treck durch das Rebell-Territorium, eine Reise, die die Familie von Solomon retten und Bogenschützen die zweite Chance geben konnte, dachte er, dass er nie haben würde.
