Plot Summary:
Hollywood, today: Bobby Bowfinger, a tired actor’s producer’s manager, reads a writing which a friend has written. Completely is convincing of his quality he decides to take the last, shot after fame and luck. But the writing is not, that to sell easily, and a famous producer to him promises to do it, but there is a condition: Kit Ramsey, the star number one of Hollywood, must be in it. So, Bobby be tried luck with the kit - who says - and to itself then decides to turn the film independently. Together with the most inexpensive team available in southern California, a striving beauty of Ohio, begins a diva who is just a little too much the hill, key holds gofer from a main studio and an idiot leaseholdly away from the Schnipsen of the Burgers, Bobby to shoot the science fiction film which shows Kit Ramsey in the leading role - who even does not know that he is filmed.

Also, Bobby versucht sein Glück mit dem Bastelsatz - wer nein sagt - und sich dann dafür entscheidet, den Film selbst zu drehen. Zusammen mit der preiswertesten Mannschaft verfügbar im Südlichen Kalifornien, einer strebenden Schönheit von Ohio, beginnt eine Diva, die gerade ein wenig zu viel der Hügel, ein Schlüssel-Halten gofer von einem Hauptstudio und einem Idioten gemietet weg vom Schnipsen des Burgers, Bobby ist, den Sciencefictionsfilm zu schießen, der Kit Ramsey in der Hauptrolle zeigt - wer nicht sogar weiß, dass er gefilmt wird.
