Plot Summary:
To escape wishing, city lives for the scenery, inhabitant’s of New York cellarmen Tilson (Quaid), his Mrs. Leah (stone) and her two children in dilapidated old with the possessions of the previous family still change clothes full mansion. Transforming of it in her dream house soon becomes a living nightmare if the previous owner (Dorff) appears, and a row of horrific events she leads tingling search for tips to the dark and garish past of the state on a sting.
Wollend, Stadtleben für die Landschaft zu entkommen, ziehen New-Yorker-Küfer Tilson (Quaid), seine Frau Leah (Stein) und ihre zwei Kinder in ein verfallenes altes mit den Besitzungen der vorherigen Familie noch gefülltes Herrenhaus um. Das Verwandeln davon in ihr Traumhaus wird bald ein lebender Albtraum, wenn der vorherige Eigentümer (Dorff) auftaucht, und eine Reihe von furchterregenden Ereignissen sie auf einer Stachel prickelnden Suche nach Hinweisen zur dunklen und grellen Vergangenheit des Stands führt.
