Storyline

Plot Summary:
Lester and Carolyn Burnham are on the outside, a perfect man and woman in a perfect house in a perfect neighborhood. But inside Lester glides deeper and deeper in a desperate depression. He snaps, in the end, if he blinds by one of his daughter’s friends becomes. In the meantime, his daughter Jane develops a happy friendship with a shy boy next door called Ricky who lives with a homosexuality-hostile father.
Lester und Carolyn Burnham sind auf der Außenseite, einem vollkommenen Mann und Frau in einem vollkommenen Haus in einer vollkommenen Nachbarschaft. Aber innen gleitet Lester tiefer und tiefer in eine hoffnungslose Depression. Er schnappt schließlich, wenn er verblendet durch einen seiner Tochter-Freunde wird. Inzwischen entwickelt seine Tochter Jane eine glückliche Freundschaft mit einem schüchternen Jungen nebenan genannt Ricky, der mit einem homosexualitätsfeindlichen Vater lebt.
